Email [email protected] for more details.
Who We Are:
We are the Midwest Collegiate Ski Conference of the United States Collegiate Ski (Alpine, Nordic, Freeski) and Snowboard Association. There are over 5,000 athletes competing in 11 ski racing conferences, including the Midwest Conference that form the U.S.C.S.A. Within these 11 conferences there are 24 divisions that run an annual schedule of 250 ski races. The USCSA governs 72% of all collegiate ski racing in the United States. There are over 200 colleges who compete nationally at either varsity or club sports levels. The Midwest Conference usually has between 20-30 teams participating each season, making us one of the largest ski racing conferences in the US.
MCSA Alpine, Snowboard and Freeski:
The Midwest Alpine/Snowboard/Freeski Teams are divided into 4 Divisions; Ohio, Chicago, Lake Superior, and Michigan.
Teams will be designated into divisions by the MCSA Regional Office. Your team must participate in a majority of regular season races in your designated Division to participate in postseason race(s). Teams may participate in other Divisions regular season events, as long as the requirements are met in their own Division.
MCSA Nordic:
Nordic skiing needs your help!!! We are building the Nordic program in the Midwest, you can view our NORDIC Page here for more information. USCSA and MCSA dues will be waived the first year you register with us. It is a benefit to ALL RACERS to support a Nordic team - remember that an alpine team can become eligible to race in the USCSA National Championship if you have a cross country team that is also participating in Nationals. Nordic teams MUST participate in a majority of MCSA sanctioned events and attend an MCSA Regional race to be eligible to qualify for Nationals.
Teams and Individuals must be registered with USCSA and MCSA to participate in MCSA regular and postseason events and the USCSA National Championships.
Individual USCSA Registration and Insurance:
This is NOT A PRIMARY OR SECONDARY medical insurance policy, it is a liability policy to protect the USCSA (and MCSA workers and volunteers) and venue in the event of an accident.
Academic Eligibility:
Each racer must be a FULL TIME STUDENT in an accredited undergraduate program. The USCSA follows NCAA II Rules for eligibility. See the NCAA rule book for further information, or see the school registrar. The SKI TEAM ELIGIBILITY FORM, listing all ski members and requested items of information concerning academic eligibility, is required for validation of college registration and athletic eligibility of all individuals wishing to participate on a college ski team under the auspices of the USCSA.
It is the responsibility of all teams to fill out academic forms as part of the USCSA registration. Provide accurate and complete information where requested. Submit the completed form to the proper college authorities for additional information, verification and signature. File one copy to the USCSA national office and keep one copy for your team records.
Elections:
Each conference is required to hold annual elections EACH SPRING for all offices. This is not only your voice in the operation of their organization, but a requirement of our non-profit tax status.

MCSA Division Championship Race Award Qualification:
Qualification for the Division Award is done through participation in the designated Division you are competing in AND will be based on the accumulative points through participation finishes in regular season competition. Running Order Procedure:
A race schedule and list of Coordinators is available on this web site. Running orders MUST BE E-MAILED to your Coordinator by the days and times noted on their schedule. All racers on the list MUST PAY THE RACE FEE - RACING OR NOT! Additional racers may be added to the end of the run order at race time and must pay the race fee at that time. Run orders may not be changed once they are set by your Coordinator. Bibs are set and computers are programmed by this time. Changes will not be accepted.
Bib Procedure:
Bibs are purchased and owned by the Teams. Due to bib price increases, the cost of bibs will be: Alpine $20 and Snowboard $30. This cost is added to the per racer MCSA Regional dues. I highly suggest holding on to all bibs to be reused until it is necessary to replace them, or your team grows in numbers. Racers MUST wear the bib number they are assigned at the start of the season. If they do not have a bib, or the incorrect bib, they will NOT be allowed to race/compete. They may rent a bib for $5 or purchase a new one for $20.
